2026 Event Rules - Classes

Buy, sell, congregate, HAVE FUN!

It goes without saying, please DO NOT enter a model kit that has won an award in one of OUR previous contests. This is pretty much on the honour system but if you get caught out doing it, it could be potentially quite embarrassing!

NEW RULE FOR DIORAMAS - due to space limitations, please restrict your diorama size to no larger than 2' X 2' 

This Year's Classes and Special Themes are:

2026 SPECIAL THEMES
Automotive Theme: “Car of the Year”

Any car, any make/year as determined by a major automotive journal.
Example: Motor Trend’s 2026 Car of the Year – VW GTI/R.
Entrants must supply a facsimile of the magazine cover.
 

Military Theme: 35th Anniversary of the Gulf War

Honor history. Capture realism. Tell the story in scale.
 

AUTOMOTIVE CLASSES

• Out of Box (3 Awards) – Instructions must be supplied
• Best Factory Stock (3)
• Best Modified (3)
• Best Racing Car (3)
• Best Motorcycle (1)
• Best Light Truck (3)
• Best Big Truck (3)
• Best Other Scale (3)
• Best “Imagined” Automotive (1)
• *Best Diorama – Automotive (1)
• Best Paint (1)
• Best Engine (1)

 

MILITARY, SHIPS & AIRCRAFT

• Best Military Land (3)
• Best Aircraft (3)
• Best Boat or Ship (1)

 

GUNPLA & SCI-FI

• Best Gundam 1/100 & Larger – OOB (1), Modified (1)
• Best Gundam 1/144 & Smaller – OOB (1), Modified (1)
• Best Outer Space, Real or Sci-Fi (3)

 

OTHER CLASSES

• Best Figure – Historical (1)
• Best Figure – Fantasy (1)
• *Best Diorama – Non-Automotive (1)
• Best Weathering (3)
• Best ANYTHING ELSE (3)

 

SPECIAL AWARDS
• Best in Show (1) – The Ultimate Build – as voted by your peers
• People’s Choice (1)– Chosen by the crowd.

JUNIORS

Ages 12 & Under – NO ENTRY FEE. Everyone entering is a winner. An award will be
given to each entrant

 
*All models may have bases. Once any other elements are put on the base, it becomes
a diorama and must be entered in those classes. Dioramas may NOT exceed 2’ x 2’.
AWARD FORMAT EXPLANATION
• Where (3) is indicated: Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd) are
presented.
• Where (1) is indicated: A single award is presented.
